Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 September 2026
Canada Business Gateway respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information entrusted to us. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how to stop hearing from us.
01Who we are
Canada Business Gateway is operated by Manifold Growth Partners Inc., 55 York Street, Suite 401, Toronto, ON M5J 1R7, Canada.
Questions about this policy or about the information we hold can go to privacy@cangateway.ca.
02What we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:
- your email address;
- your name, organisation and business contact details, if you provide them;
- the sectors, provinces and topics you select as interests;
- anything you choose to send us when you get in touch; and
- limited technical information about your use of the site, such as pages viewed and searches run.
We collect only what is reasonably necessary for the purposes described here. We do not ask for financial information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
03What we use it for
- sending the alerts and updates you asked for;
- selecting which opportunities to send you, based on the interests you chose;
- managing your subscription and preferences;
- answering questions and requests;
- operating and improving the service; and
- meeting legal and regulatory obligations.
We will not use your information for a materially different purpose without obtaining any consent the law requires.
04Email, consent and unsubscribing
We send commercial electronic messages in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation. We ask for your consent before sending alerts or newsletters, and we record when you gave it and which version of the consent wording you agreed to.
You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message, or from your account page. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately; we do not wait the ten business days the legislation allows. Withdrawing consent for alerts does not prevent us sending messages we are legally permitted or required to send, such as a password reset.
05Sharing, and where your information is held
We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass subscriber contact details to businesses, chambers of commerce, industry associations, investors or other partners for their own marketing.
We use service providers to run the service, and they may only use your information to provide those services to us. Being specific about where that puts your data:
- the application and its database run on Google Cloud infrastructure in Mumbai, India, so subscriber information is stored and processed there;
- email is delivered through a provider in the United States; and
- listing text from public sources is processed by an AI service to summarise and categorise it. Subscriber personal information is not sent to that service.
Information held outside Canada is subject to the laws of the country it is held in, and may be accessible to courts and authorities there. We remain responsible for it and take reasonable steps to see that our providers protect it. We may also disclose information where the law requires or permits it.
06How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as long as legal and operational requirements demand. What is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.
We keep limited records of consent and unsubscribe requests for longer, because being able to demonstrate that a request was honoured is itself a legal requirement.
07Security
We use administrative, technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information we hold. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
08Your choices
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- unsubscribe from any email at any time;
- withdraw consent to particular uses of your information;
- ask what personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything inaccurate; and
- raise a concern about how we handle your information.
Write to privacy@cangateway.ca and we will respond.
09Cookies
We set one cookie, which keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Usage information such as searches run and listings viewed is recorded in our own database against your account, and is used to improve the service.
10Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service or to legal requirements. The current version is always posted here with its effective date.
